Queuing-Inventory Models with MAP Demands and Random Replenishment Opportunities

چکیده
Combining the study of queuing with inventory is very common and such systems are referred to as queuing-inventory in literature. These occur naturally practice have been studied extensively The considered literature generally include (s,S)-type. However, this paper we look at opportunistic-type replenishment which there an independent point process that used model events called opportunistic for replenishing inventory. When opportunity (to replenish) occurs, a probabilistic rule depends on level determine whether avail it or not. Assuming customers arrive according Markovian arrival process, demands batches varying size, require random service times modeled using continuous-time phase-type distribution, Poisson apply matrix-analytic methods two models. In one models, lost when arrivals no other model, can enter into system even if zero but server has be busy moment. idle completion epochs leave zero. Illustrative numerical examples presented, some possible future work highlighted.

Inventory Systems with Advance Demand Information and Random Replenishment Times
Advance demand information, when used effectively, improves the performance of production/inventory systems. The extent of improvement however depends on certain factors. We investigate the influence of random supply lead times on a single-stage inventory system with advance demand information. It is found that the supply lead time variability diminishes the benefits of advance demand information.
متن کاملA Dynamic Inventory Model with Random Replenishment Quantities
A periodic-review, random-demand inventory model is analyzed under the assumption that replenishment quantities are random fractions of the amounts ordered. Results of a previous study of a single-period model are generalized to form an easily computed heuristic adaptation of the (s, S) policy for use in this environment. The heuristic is based on the simple practice of scaling down pipeline in...
متن کاملInventory Models with Continuous , Stochastic Demands 1
This article is concerned with the (r, q) inventory model, where demand accumulates continuously, but the demand rate at each instant is determined by an underlying stochastic process. The primary result is the demonstration of a certain insensitivity property, which characterizes the limiting behavior of the model. This property drastically simplifies the computation of performance measures fo...
متن کاملAverage Cost Optimality in Inventory Models with Markovian Demands 1
This paper is concerned with long-run average cost minimization of a stochastic inventory problem with Markovian demand, xed ordering cost, and convex surplus cost. The states of the Markov chain represent di erent possible states of the environment. Using a vanishing discount approach, a dynamic programming equation and the corresponding veri cation theorem are established. Finally, the existe...
متن کاملMartingale methods for pricing inventory penalties under continuous replenishment and compound renewal demands
This paper addresses the problem of inventory penalty pricing under the risk-neutral valuation principle. The underlying production-inventory system has a constant replenishment rate and a compound renewal demand stream (i.e., iid demand interarrival times are independent of iid demand sizes), and is subject to underage and overage penalties. Our pricing approach treats the penalties as a serie...
